This will be a permanent part of your body, so you will want something that says something about you. You should find someone you trust, and who also speaks the language to write the letters, instead of just getting random Asian letters, or a random sentence. You should thoroughly research what the sentence both says, and means. The English translation may sound innocent, but it may mean something else entirely in an Asian country. There was a news story a few years ago, where a young man decided to get a tattoo, and went to a tattoo parlor, and requested some Asian writing. The tattoo artist decided to have a bit of fun at the young mans expense, and wrote something very vulgar and obscene on his skin. The young man left the shop happy with his new tattoo, and had no idea it meant something ugly until someone who spoke the language read it and told him what it said. Needless to say, he was not very happy about the situation, and I cannot think of anyone who would be, especially not me.
